Sullivan’s Island is one of the most exclusive residential communities on the East Coast — three miles of barrier island where the median home price exceeds $4 million and strict Design Review Board standards protect every property’s character. The pools here match the caliber of the homes they serve. When a surface fails, replacing it with anything less than a permanent, high-performance finish isn’t an option. That’s exactly what we deliver.

Sullivan’s Island is a barrier island where every pool sits inside the most corrosive environment in the Charleston area. Atlantic ocean salt spray from the east, Intracoastal Waterway salt marsh from the west, constant wind from Breach Inlet to Station 28½ — the entire island is enveloped in airborne chloride year-round. Properties along Atlantic Avenue, Station 18 through Station 28, Ion Avenue, and Middle Street all share the same relentless exposure. No part of the island is shielded from it.
The pools here aren’t standard suburban installations. They’re architect-designed features integrated into properties valued at $2M–$6M and above — dark plaster finishes, elevated pool designs, custom entries with travertine or natural stone decking. When these surfaces fail, patching isn’t acceptable. The replacement finish has to match the quality of the original design intent while genuinely outperforming it against barrier island conditions. Our thermo-polymer coating system does exactly that: a non-porous, UV-stable, salt-resistant finish that bonds to the substrate and holds its color and texture through conditions that would destroy plaster in 3–4 years on this island.
High-performance thermo-polymer coating systems engineered for Sullivan’s Island’s oceanfront environment, protecting architect-designed residential pools with durable, low-maintenance finishes built for barrier-island conditions.
Fiberglass pools across Sullivan’s Island are exposed to direct salt air, UV rays, humidity, and harsh coastal conditions that accelerate gel-coat fading, oxidation, chalking, blistering, and spider cracking. Our polyFIBRO® thermo-polymer coating bonds directly to the fiberglass shell, creating a flexible, UV-stable, non-porous surface engineered to withstand barrier-island exposure while resisting peeling, moisture intrusion, and long-term coastal surface deterioration.
Concrete and gunite pools on Sullivan’s Island experience intense UV exposure, direct Atlantic salt spray, humidity, and environmental stress that accelerate plaster erosion, color fading, staining, cracking, and surface deterioration. Dark plaster finishes used in outdoor spaces often degrade faster under barrier-island conditions. Our aquaBRIGHT™ thermo-polymer coating creates a smooth, non-porous, pH-neutral surface that resists salt penetration, algae buildup, mineral absorption, and repeated replastering cycles while maintaining long-term color performance in coastal environments.
From fiberglass blistering and surface delamination to structural cracks, substrate deterioration, and leak-related damage, we provide complete pool repair solutions for Sullivan’s Island homeowners and vacation rental properties. Whether your pool is oceanfront, near Middle Street, or within one of the island’s residential neighborhoods, every repair begins with identifying the root issue before restoring the surface using thermo-polymer coating systems engineered for direct Atlantic salt exposure, humidity, UV stress, and coastal durability.
On Sullivan’s Island, a pool isn’t an amenity — it’s a design element of a multi-million-dollar property. It’s integrated with the architecture, the landscape plan, and the outdoor living space. When the surface starts failing, it undermines the entire composition. And on an island governed by a Design Review Board that protects architectural character and property standards, a deteriorating pool surface is more than an eyesore — it’s a liability.
We approach Sullivan’s Island pools with the precision the setting demands. Before any coating is applied, we assess the pool shell for salt-driven subsurface damage, delamination from storm-season water events, UV-accelerated pigment breakdown in dark finishes, and structural stress from elevated pool designs. We repair at the substrate level — then apply a thermo-polymer finish that fuses to the shell rather than sitting on top of it.
The result is a pool surface that performs at the level the property requires. Color that doesn’t fade under barrier island UV. Texture that stays smooth season after season. A finish that holds its value — protecting one of the largest outdoor investments on some of the most valuable residential real estate in South Carolina.
Sullivan’s Island demands a level of care that most pool companies aren’t equipped to deliver. The island’s strict preservation guidelines, high-value properties, and extreme barrier island exposure create a project environment where every decision matters — from how the pool is drained on sandy, high-water-table soil to how the coating color is selected to complement an architect-specified outdoor palette.
We work on Sullivan’s Island because we understand what’s at stake. These aren’t commodity replastering jobs — they’re surface restoration projects on properties where the pool represents a significant portion of the outdoor investment. We coordinate with homeowners, architects, and property managers to ensure the finished result meets the aesthetic standard the island requires while delivering the long-term performance that barrier island conditions demand.

Ken and Ashley and their crew at SC POOL RESURFACING were absolutely amazing. It was nerve-racking to see all the work that needed to be done on our fiberglass pool. Our pool had a leak for years and I finally decided to do something about it. But this team came in, assessed the situation with ease and got right to work. They were meticulous and careful not to damage the newly applied ecofibro material, especially when it came to fixing the bulge in the middle of the pool and would require cinder blocks to hold everything down. So they placed the cinder blocks on top of two 2x4’s, but wrapped the 2x4’s with non-adhesive tape so as not to damage the newly applied fiberglass —- Very impressive. They cared for the pool as if it were their own, and best of all, I could tell they took pride in their work. Thanks you all for caring! You don’t see that these days anymore. Enjoy the before and after pics! Obviously I’m still working on the pool deck.Posted on Google Suzanne JTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I got a beautiful new looking pool and filter in two days. The filter works so much better and pressure is not even up to 10 three weeks later. Algae problem is gone. They were professional knowledgeable and did what they said they would plus. Love my new pool.Posted on Google Alex BishopTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What's the first thing that comes to mind when needing a big $$ job done? Can I trust these people? Are they going to take my deposit and ride off into the sunset, or maybe head to Mexico with a bunch of deposits and never do any work? Much to my surprise after having another company come out that does the same job and wanting a large deposit, this company said that I didn't need to give them .01 cent before they finished the job. We have a large pool (concrete and old) that had several layers of paint on it. They brought in a professional sandblaster company that did the job the right way. We could see that we had some cracks in the old concrete and needed some other work done before going forward. Again they recommended the best man for the job to fix all of that. It was an added expense, but no reason to fix things half ass. He fixed the cracks the correct way, not the good enough way, put new pvc pipe in, added 2 new returns, redid the skimmer box, and a couple of other things. Was it an added expense, of course. But, we didn't want to just put a bandaid on this pool. Now it was time for Ken and his team of professionals to come in and do their part, the part we we're waiting for. They were here at the time they said they would be. They got the pool ready like it was their own before starting. Then they got to work. They made sure to prep things the way they should, without shortcuts, putting several layers of the resin on the concrete. Their product bonds to the resin, therefore the concrete walls and floor. Then came the exciting part, watching them put the 3 layers of their Eco-finish product on with what looks like flamethrowers. As soon as they finished with the 3rd layer, the immediately were able to start filling the pool with water. They never once made me feel like they were in the category of a used car salesman. Always answered or returned my calls when I had questions. They came over and made sure the other guys were getting things ready for them to be able to do the final job. I would definitely recommend Ken and the people he recommended to do the job right. If you want to come look at my pool before doing yours Ken will happily give you my phone number to do so. We did have another person that does the same job come out before Ken, and they wanted I want to say 50% down, they were from almost 2 hours away, and we just didn't get the same vibe from them as we did Ken. Thank you Ken, Ashley and the rest of your people for exceeding our expectations and bringing brand new life to my wife's favorite part of our little Plantation. To many years of memories for our family and always remember HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE. The Anthony's.Posted on Google Emory HaganTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
