Mount Pleasant is Charleston’s largest suburban market — and one of the most demanding pool environments on the East Coast. Positioned between the Cooper River, the Wando River, and the tidal-marsh systems that run to Sullivan’s Island, every pool here faces sustained salt aerosol from multiple waterway corridors, tidal-marsh humidity that rarely drops below 60%, and over 210 days of direct UV per year. Our thermo-polymer coatings are engineered for exactly this combination of coastal stress.

Mount Pleasant’s pool inventory is one of the largest and most diverse in the Charleston metro. The city stretches from the historic Old Village on the harbor to the master-planned communities east of the Wando River, including I’On, Park West, Dunes West, Rivertowne Country Club, Belle Hall Plantation, The Hibben, Snee Farm, Hobcaw Creek Plantation, Brickyard Plantation, and established neighborhoods across every price point. The pool inventory ranges from luxury custom builds with outdoor living installations to builder-grade fiberglass shells included with the original house package.
What unifies this inventory is the environmental exposure. Mount Pleasant is bordered by tidal waterways on three sides: the Cooper River to the west, the Wando River to the east, and Shem Creek and the tidal-marsh system toward Sullivan’s Island to the south. Every pool surface in Mount Pleasant is exposed to salt aerosol, sustained brackish humidity, and coastal UV through the long warm season. Plaster absorbs all of it. Salt leaches minerals from the cement matrix, humidity drives moisture behind the surface, and UV oxidizes the finish into the rough, stained condition many Mount Pleasant pool owners recognize by year 7 or 8. Fiberglass gel coat chalks and oxidizes on a similar timeline. Our aquaBRIGHT™ thermo-polymer for concrete and polyFIBRO® for fiberglass eliminate the absorption pathway entirely, creating non-porous, pH-neutral surfaces engineered for Mount Pleasant’s coastal conditions.
For Mount Pleasant homeowners, the value proposition is direct: a pool surface that performs at the level this address demands without the replaster cycle traditional finishes require.
High-performance pool coatings built for Mount Pleasant’s coastal Lowcountry environment, protecting residential pools with durable, low-maintenance finishes designed for long-term performance.
Fiberglass pools across Mount Pleasant are exposed to salt air, UV rays, humidity, and coastal conditions that accelerate gel-coat fading, oxidation, chalking, and blistering. Our polyFIBRO® thermo-polymer coating bonds directly to the fiberglass shell, creating a flexible, UV-stable, non-porous, salt-resistant surface designed to resist peeling, moisture intrusion, and long-term coastal surface deterioration in demanding waterfront environments.
Concrete and gunite pools throughout Mount Pleasant often develop rough texture, staining, algae buildup, mineral deposits, and premature plaster wear caused by salt exposure, humidity, UV rays, and ongoing chemical stress. Our aquaBRIGHT™ thermo-polymer coating creates a smooth, non-porous, pH-neutral surface that resists staining, algae growth, mineral absorption, and repeated replastering cycles while delivering a longer-lasting finish for coastal residential pools.
From fiberglass blistering and surface delamination to structural cracks, substrate deterioration, and leak-related damage, we provide complete pool repair solutions for Mount Pleasant homeowners and waterfront properties alike. Every repair begins with identifying the root issue before restoring the surface using advanced thermo-polymer coating systems engineered for salt exposure, UV radiation, humidity, and long-term coastal durability.
Mount Pleasant homeowners invest heavily in their outdoor spaces. Pools here are often part of larger outdoor living installations that include hardscape, landscaping, outdoor kitchens, and entertainment areas. When the pool surface starts failing, it affects the entire investment. The water looks cloudy even when the chemistry is balanced. The surface feels rough underfoot. Waterline staining reforms within weeks of cleaning. The ongoing cost of managing a degrading plaster surface, including chemical overuse, acid washing, and professional cleaning, becomes a recurring expense that compounds over time.
Our approach starts with the substrate, not the surface. We assess every pool for plaster delamination, fiberglass blistering, structural cracking, and water chemistry damage before coating. We repair what needs repairing at the structural level, then apply a thermo-polymer finish that forms a molecular bond with the pool shell. It is not a coat of paint sitting on top. It is a sealed membrane fused directly to the structure.
The finished pool does not just look restored. It performs at a level that matches the rest of the outdoor investment. Lower chemical costs, dramatically less scrubbing, a surface that resists salt-air staining and holds its color through Mount Pleasant’s coastal UV season, and consistent water clarity help keep the pool the centerpiece it was designed to be.
Mount Pleasant pools are exposed to salt air, brackish humidity, intense UV exposure, and ongoing family-use chemistry stress that place constant pressure on traditional plaster and fiberglass surfaces. Over time, many homeowners experience rough texture, staining, algae buildup, calcium scaling, fading, and repeated resurfacing cycles caused by the area’s demanding coastal environment.
Mount Pleasant’s location between the Cooper River, Wando River, and surrounding tidal-marsh systems creates one of the most aggressive pool environments in the Charleston area. Salt aerosol, humidity, and sustained coastal UV exposure continuously attack porous pool surfaces. Our non-porous thermo-polymer coating systems eliminate the absorption pathways that allow moisture, salt, minerals, algae, and staining to penetrate the surface while helping pools stay smoother, cleaner, and easier to maintain year after year.
We stand behind the quality of our work. Our advanced pool coatings come with a comprehensive 10-year warranty, ensuring your new surface easily withstands the intense South Carolina heat and humidity without peeling, cracking, or fading.
Spend less time scrubbing and more time swimming. Our ecoFINISH® surfaces are completely non-porous, which locks out stubborn chemical stains and makes it nearly impossible for aggressive algae to take hold in your pool.
Don't leave your pool empty for weeks waiting for traditional plaster to dry. Our thermal spray applications cure instantly upon contact, meaning you can usually refill your pool and jump back in the exact same day we finish!

They are great about answering your calls and helping with even the littlest problems I had with my aging fiberglass pool. They resurfaced the pool and they did a great job. They are very neat and keep the working area very clean. Hard working, honest people with great work ethics. I would recommend them to assist with your fiberglass needs.Posted on Google Jorge AndazolaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ken and Ashley and their crew at SC POOL RESURFACING were absolutely amazing. It was nerve-racking to see all the work that needed to be done on our fiberglass pool. Our pool had a leak for years and I finally decided to do something about it. But this team came in, assessed the situation with ease and got right to work. They were meticulous and careful not to damage the newly applied ecofibro material, especially when it came to fixing the bulge in the middle of the pool and would require cinder blocks to hold everything down. So they placed the cinder blocks on top of two 2x4’s, but wrapped the 2x4’s with non-adhesive tape so as not to damage the newly applied fiberglass —- Very impressive. They cared for the pool as if it were their own, and best of all, I could tell they took pride in their work. Thanks you all for caring! You don’t see that these days anymore. Enjoy the before and after pics! Obviously I’m still working on the pool deck.Posted on Google Suzanne JTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I got a beautiful new looking pool and filter in two days. The filter works so much better and pressure is not even up to 10 three weeks later. Algae problem is gone. They were professional knowledgeable and did what they said they would plus. Love my new pool.Posted on Google Alex BishopTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Straightforward, true to their word, exactly what we needed and wanted.Posted on Google James AnthonyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What's the first thing that comes to mind when needing a big $$ job done? Can I trust these people? Are they going to take my deposit and ride off into the sunset, or maybe head to Mexico with a bunch of deposits and never do any work? Much to my surprise after having another company come out that does the same job and wanting a large deposit, this company said that I didn't need to give them .01 cent before they finished the job. We have a large pool (concrete and old) that had several layers of paint on it. They brought in a professional sandblaster company that did the job the right way. We could see that we had some cracks in the old concrete and needed some other work done before going forward. Again they recommended the best man for the job to fix all of that. It was an added expense, but no reason to fix things half ass. He fixed the cracks the correct way, not the good enough way, put new pvc pipe in, added 2 new returns, redid the skimmer box, and a couple of other things. Was it an added expense, of course. But, we didn't want to just put a bandaid on this pool. Now it was time for Ken and his team of professionals to come in and do their part, the part we we're waiting for. They were here at the time they said they would be. They got the pool ready like it was their own before starting. Then they got to work. They made sure to prep things the way they should, without shortcuts, putting several layers of the resin on the concrete. Their product bonds to the resin, therefore the concrete walls and floor. Then came the exciting part, watching them put the 3 layers of their Eco-finish product on with what looks like flamethrowers. As soon as they finished with the 3rd layer, the immediately were able to start filling the pool with water. They never once made me feel like they were in the category of a used car salesman. Always answered or returned my calls when I had questions. They came over and made sure the other guys were getting things ready for them to be able to do the final job. I would definitely recommend Ken and the people he recommended to do the job right. If you want to come look at my pool before doing yours Ken will happily give you my phone number to do so. We did have another person that does the same job come out before Ken, and they wanted I want to say 50% down, they were from almost 2 hours away, and we just didn't get the same vibe from them as we did Ken. Thank you Ken, Ashley and the rest of your people for exceeding our expectations and bringing brand new life to my wife's favorite part of our little Plantation. To many years of memories for our family and always remember HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE. The Anthony's.Posted on Google Emory HaganTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Most plaster pools in Mount Pleasant reach end of useful surface life between year 5 and year 8 — faster than inland markets because the salt-air exposure accelerates every degradation mechanism plaster is vulnerable to. The signs to look for: rough texture underfoot, persistent staining at the waterline and below returns, mottled or blotchy discoloration that doesn't respond to chemical treatment, hairline crazing across the plaster surface, calcium scaling that reforms within weeks of cleaning, or a surface that simply never looks clean regardless of how much you treat the water. Fiberglass pools show chalking, color fade, blistering, and the loss of the smooth gel coat the pool had when new. A free inspection confirms the condition and your options.
Pricing is based on pool size, existing surface condition, and prep requirements — we inspect every pool before providing a written estimate. For Mount Pleasant homeowners, the relevant comparison is the thermo-polymer coating's per-year cost versus the replaster-every-5-to-7-years cycle that coastal plaster pools fall into. Per year of actual service life, the coating consistently costs less than continuing to replaster — and meaningfully less when you factor in the reduced chemical costs, eliminated acid washing, and zero truck-water expense the non-porous surface delivers.
Because Mount Pleasant's coastal geography exposes pool surfaces to salt aerosol from the Cooper River, Wando River, and surrounding tidal-marsh system simultaneously. Salt-laden humidity accelerates mineral leaching from the cement matrix in plaster, which roughens the surface and opens pathways for staining to embed below where chemicals can't reach it. UV compounds the damage by oxidizing the surface from above. The combination produces the accelerated degradation pattern that most Mount Pleasant pool owners recognize — plaster that looks 10 years old after 5 years of coastal exposure.
The product and process are the same; the environmental stress profiles are comparable across all three coastal markets. The practical differences are in pool inventory and community context. Charleston proper includes more historic properties and commercial installations. Sullivan's Island is a barrier island with direct Atlantic exposure. Mount Pleasant's inventory is the largest and most diverse — ranging from luxury custom builds to builder-grade fiberglass — and the coating addresses all contexts with the same coastal-rated performance.
Yes. We work across all Mount Pleasant residential communities — I'On, Park West, Dunes West, Rivertowne Country Club, Belle Hall Plantation, The Hibben, Snee Farm, Hobcaw Creek Plantation, Brickyard Plantation, Old Village, and every neighborhood in between. For communities with architectural review boards or HOA approval requirements, we provide the coating specification, warranty documentation, contractor insurance certificates, and any other materials needed for community processes and approval.
Standard timeline is 2–3 days on site for the install. Refill begins immediately after final cure, and the pool is typically swim-ready 4–6 days from initial drain. We schedule around your availability and coordinate any access logistics for gated or HOA-managed communities in advance. For homeowners listing a property or preparing for seasonal entertaining, we can often expedite scheduling to meet real estate or event timelines.
