Port Royal sits between Beaufort proper and Parris Island in the heart of Lowcountry coastal Beaufort County, and the pool environment here is dominated by Battery Creek brackish humidity, salt aerosol from Port Royal Sound, and the kind of military-family ownership turnover that means many of the area’s pools have been through multiple replaster cycles tied to PCS moves. Our thermo-polymer coatings end the cycle.

The Port Royal pool inventory stretches across Shell Point, Battery Creek-adjacent neighborhoods along Ribaut Road, the Sands area, and residential communities extending toward MCAS Beaufort. Many homes throughout the area are exposed to direct salt air, marsh humidity, UV exposure, and coastal conditions that place stress on traditional plaster and fiberglass surfaces.
The failure pattern is common across Port Royal properties. Traditional plaster surfaces often develop rough texture, staining, mineral leaching, algae buildup, fading, and premature surface wear within a few years. Fiberglass pools frequently experience gel-coat chalking, oxidation, discoloration, and blistering caused by sustained coastal exposure and Lowcountry humidity.
Our aquaBRIGHT™ thermo-polymer for concrete pools and polyFIBRO® for fiberglass provide non-porous, UV-stable, salt-resistant surfaces engineered for Beaufort County coastal conditions. Unlike traditional plaster, these advanced coatings resist mineral absorption, algae buildup, chemistry swings, and long-term surface deterioration while delivering a smoother, longer-lasting finish for residential and waterfront properties.
For Port Royal homeowners, especially military families and resale-focused properties, the biggest advantage is replacing repeated replastering cycles with a finish built for long-term durability, easier maintenance, and transferable warranty protection.
High-performance pool coatings built for Hilton Head’s coastal resort environment, protecting plantation communities, luxury homes, vacation rentals, and commercial pools with durable, low-maintenance finishes.
Fiberglass pools across Port Royal are exposed to salt air, marsh humidity, UV rays, and coastal conditions that accelerate gel-coat fading, oxidation, chalking, and blistering. Our polyFIBRO® thermo-polymer coating bonds directly to the fiberglass shell, creating a UV-stable, non-porous, salt-resistant surface designed to resist peeling, moisture intrusion, and long-term coastal surface deterioration in demanding Lowcountry waterfront environments.
Concrete and gunite pools throughout Port Royal often develop rough texture, staining, mineral leaching, algae buildup, and premature plaster wear caused by salt exposure, humidity, and ongoing chemistry stress. Our aquaBRIGHT™ thermo-polymer coating creates a smooth, non-porous, pH-neutral surface that resists salt, staining, algae growth, and repeated replastering cycles while delivering a longer-lasting finish for coastal homeowners.
From fiberglass blistering and waterline delamination to structural cracks, substrate deterioration, and leak-related damage, we provide complete pool repair solutions for Port Royal homeowners and military families alike. Every repair begins with identifying the root issue before restoring the surface using advanced thermo-polymer coating systems engineered for salt air, marsh humidity, UV exposure, and long-term coastal durability.
Port Royal homeowners, particularly military families navigating PCS moves, need pool work to land on a clean schedule and produce documented results that hold up at resale. When the surface fails on the compressed Lowcountry coastal timeline, it becomes more than an aesthetic issue. Rough plaster damages skin and swimsuits, salt and mineral staining make the water look discolored regardless of chemistry, and repeated replaster cycles eventually affect surface texture and substrate condition.
Our approach starts with the substrate, not the surface. We assess every pool for plaster delamination, fiberglass blistering, structural cracking, and water chemistry damage before coating. We repair what needs repairing at the structural level, then apply a thermo-polymer finish that forms a molecular bond with the pool shell. It is not a layer of paint sitting on top. It is a sealed membrane fused directly to the structure.
The finished pool does not just look restored. It performs at a level the original builder-grade finish never achieved, with transferable warranty documentation that supports long-term value and resale confidence.
Port Royal’s pool environment is fully Lowcountry coastal — Port Royal Sound salt aerosol reaches every property continuously, Battery Creek and the surrounding marshes deliver brackish humidity year-round, and sustained UV runs through a long warm season. The combination compresses traditional plaster service life noticeably, which is why most Port Royal pools that were built with builder-grade plaster are now showing visible end-of-life condition.
What’s distinctive about Port Royal specifically is the military-family ownership pattern. PCS moves cycle properties through the market every few years, which means pool surface condition and warranty transferability matter at each transition. The thermo-polymer coating’s 10-year transferable warranty is meaningful collateral on a listing — it gives the buyer confidence the pool surface won’t be a major near-term capital expense, which removes a common friction point in resale negotiations.
The non-porous thermo-polymer surface helps prevent algae growth, salt-driven staining, mineral buildup, and discoloration common in Port Royal’s humid coastal environment. Because the surface resists moisture absorption and chemical penetration, pools stay smoother, cleaner, easier to maintain, and more resistant to long-term surface deterioration year after year.
Traditional plaster resurfacing can leave pools unusable for weeks during peak swim season. Our thermo-polymer coating systems cure on application, allowing most Port Royal pools to be refilled the same day and swim-ready within the same week. Faster curing means less downtime, reduced disruption, and a more convenient resurfacing experience for homeowners and military families alike.

I would recommend them to assist with your fiberglass needs.Posted on Google Jorge AndazolaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ken and Ashley and their crew at SC POOL RESURFACING were absolutely amazing. It was nerve-racking to see all the work that needed to be done on our fiberglass pool. Our pool had a leak for years and I finally decided to do something about it. But this team came in, assessed the situation with ease and got right to work. They were meticulous and careful not to damage the newly applied ecofibro material, especially when it came to fixing the bulge in the middle of the pool and would require cinder blocks to hold everything down. So they placed the cinder blocks on top of two 2x4’s, but wrapped the 2x4’s with non-adhesive tape so as not to damage the newly applied fiberglass —- Very impressive. They cared for the pool as if it were their own, and best of all, I could tell they took pride in their work. Thanks you all for caring! You don’t see that these days anymore. Enjoy the before and after pics! Obviously I’m still working on the pool deck.Posted on Google Suzanne JTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I got a beautiful new looking pool and filter in two days. The filter works so much better and pressure is not even up to 10 three weeks later. Algae problem is gone. They were professional knowledgeable and did what they said they would plus. Love my new pool.Posted on Google Alex BishopTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Straightforward, true to their word, exactly what we needed and wanted.Posted on Google James AnthonyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What's the first thing that comes to mind when needing a big $$ job done? Can I trust these people? Are they going to take my deposit and ride off into the sunset, or maybe head to Mexico with a bunch of deposits and never do any work? Much to my surprise after having another company come out that does the same job and wanting a large deposit, this company said that I didn't need to give them .01 cent before they finished the job. We have a large pool (concrete and old) that had several layers of paint on it. They brought in a professional sandblaster company that did the job the right way. We could see that we had some cracks in the old concrete and needed some other work done before going forward. Again they recommended the best man for the job to fix all of that. It was an added expense, but no reason to fix things half ass. He fixed the cracks the correct way, not the good enough way, put new pvc pipe in, added 2 new returns, redid the skimmer box, and a couple of other things. Was it an added expense, of course. But, we didn't want to just put a bandaid on this pool. Now it was time for Ken and his team of professionals to come in and do their part, the part we we're waiting for. They were here at the time they said they would be. They got the pool ready like it was their own before starting. Then they got to work. They made sure to prep things the way they should, without shortcuts, putting several layers of the resin on the concrete. Their product bonds to the resin, therefore the concrete walls and floor. Then came the exciting part, watching them put the 3 layers of their Eco-finish product on with what looks like flamethrowers. As soon as they finished with the 3rd layer, the immediately were able to start filling the pool with water. They never once made me feel like they were in the category of a used car salesman. Always answered or returned my calls when I had questions. They came over and made sure the other guys were getting things ready for them to be able to do the final job. I would definitely recommend Ken and the people he recommended to do the job right. If you want to come look at my pool before doing yours Ken will happily give you my phone number to do so. We did have another person that does the same job come out before Ken, and they wanted I want to say 50% down, they were from almost 2 hours away, and we just didn't get the same vibe from them as we did Ken. Thank you Ken, Ashley and the rest of your people for exceeding our expectations and bringing brand new life to my wife's favorite part of our little Plantation. To many years of memories for our family and always remember HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE. The Anthony's.Posted on Google Emory HaganTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Pricing is based on pool size, current condition, and prep requirements — we inspect before quoting. For owners considering a sale within the next 1–2 years, we discuss the resale value calculation specifically — a documented thermo-polymer install with transferable warranty often returns more at sale than the project costs, particularly compared to the alternative of a buyer demanding a price reduction over visible plaster failure.
