Ravenel is positioned along the US-17 corridor in inland Charleston County – set between the Stono and Rantowles Creek tidal systems, surrounded by Lowcountry marsh and mixed-hardwood canopy, and exposed to a stress profile that combines brackish tidal humidity, well water mineral content, and seasonal pollen and tannin loading that compounds year over year on traditional pool surfaces. Our thermo-polymer coatings are built for this environment.

Ravenel is a rural community in inland Charleston County, centered along US-17 south of the Charleston metro near the Caw Caw Interpretive Center and the surrounding tidal-marsh system. The pool inventory is residential, with family pools on established lots and rural properties built with traditional plaster or fiberglass gel coat now aging through demanding Lowcountry conditions.
The environmental profile is a variation of the coastal-inland crossover that defines this corridor. Ravenel sits close enough to the Rantowles Creek and Stono River systems to receive brackish humidity with measurable salt influence, accelerating plaster degradation beyond purely inland conditions. Properties on private wells also deal with iron and mineral loading that stains porous surfaces from the water side. The mixed pine, live-oak, and hardwood canopy covering most Ravenel properties adds seasonal pollen and organic tannin buildup from above. Our aquaBRIGHT™ thermo-polymer for concrete and polyFIBRO® for fiberglass seal the surface against all three stressors simultaneously.
High-performance pool coatings built for Ravenel’s coastal-inland Lowcountry environment, protecting residential pools with durable, low-maintenance finishes designed for real-world conditions.
Fiberglass pools across Ravenel are exposed to brackish humidity, UV rays, mineral-rich water, and environmental conditions that accelerate gel-coat fading, oxidation, chalking, and blistering. Our polyFIBRO® thermo-polymer coating bonds directly to the fiberglass shell, creating a UV-stable, non-porous surface designed to resist peeling, moisture intrusion, and long-term surface deterioration in demanding Lowcountry environments.
Concrete and gunite pools throughout Ravenel often develop rough texture, staining, mineral buildup, algae growth, and premature plaster wear caused by humidity, well water minerals, pollen, and ongoing chemistry stress. Our aquaBRIGHT™ thermo-polymer coating creates a smooth, non-porous, pH-neutral surface that resists staining, algae buildup, mineral absorption, and repeated replastering cycles while delivering a longer-lasting finish for residential Lowcountry pools.
From fiberglass blistering and surface delamination to structural cracks, substrate deterioration, and leak-related damage, we provide complete pool repair solutions for Ravenel homeowners and rural properties alike. Every repair begins with identifying the root issue before restoring the surface using advanced thermo-polymer coating systems engineered for brackish humidity, UV exposure, mineral-rich water, and long-term durability.
Ravenel homeowners are practical about their pool expectations — they want a surface that stays clean, holds up to daily use, and doesn’t require constant chemical intervention. When the plaster has absorbed years of well water minerals and tidal-creek humidity until it’s permanently stained and rough, no amount of chemical treatment will reverse the damage — the contamination is embedded in the surface material itself.
Our approach starts with the substrate, not the surface. We assess every pool for plaster delamination, fiberglass blistering, structural cracking, and water chemistry damage before coating. We repair what needs repairing at the structural level — then apply a thermo-polymer finish that forms a molecular bond with the pool shell. It’s not a coat of paint sitting on top. It’s a sealed membrane fused to the structure.
The finished pool doesn’t just look restored — it performs at a level the original builder-grade finish never achieved. Lower chemical costs, dramatically less scrubbing, a surface that doesn’t absorb minerals or organic staining, and the kind of clean water clarity that Ravenel pool owners haven’t seen since the pool was new.
Ravenel pools are exposed to brackish humidity, inland heat, mineral-rich well water, pollen, and organic debris that place constant stress on traditional plaster and fiberglass surfaces. Over time, many homeowners experience rough texture, staining, algae buildup, mineral discoloration, fading, and repeated resurfacing cycles caused by Ravenel’s unique coastal-inland crossover environment.
The combination of tidal-creek humidity, iron-rich well water, sustained UV exposure, and dense pine and hardwood canopy creates a challenging environment for porous pool surfaces. Our non-porous thermo-polymer coating systems eliminate the absorption pathways that allow minerals, moisture, algae, tannins, and staining to penetrate the surface while helping pools stay smoother, cleaner, and easier to maintain year after year.
The non-porous thermo-polymer surface helps prevent algae growth, mineral staining, pollen buildup, tannin discoloration, and surface deterioration common in Ravenel’s crossover environment. Because the surface resists moisture absorption and chemical penetration, pools stay smoother, cleaner, easier to maintain, and more resistant to long-term wear year after year.
Traditional plaster resurfacing can leave pools unusable for weeks during peak swim season. Our thermo-polymer coating systems cure on application, allowing most Ravenel pools to be refilled the same day and swim-ready within the same week. Faster curing means less downtime, reduced disruption, and a more convenient resurfacing experience for homeowners and families alike.

They are great about answering your calls and helping with even the littlest problems I had with my aging fiberglass pool. They resurfaced the pool and they did a great job. They are very neat and keep the working area very clean. Hard working, honest people with great work ethics. I would recommend them to assist with your fiberglass needs.Posted on Google Jorge AndazolaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ken and Ashley and their crew at SC POOL RESURFACING were absolutely amazing. It was nerve-racking to see all the work that needed to be done on our fiberglass pool. Our pool had a leak for years and I finally decided to do something about it. But this team came in, assessed the situation with ease and got right to work. They were meticulous and careful not to damage the newly applied ecofibro material, especially when it came to fixing the bulge in the middle of the pool and would require cinder blocks to hold everything down. So they placed the cinder blocks on top of two 2x4’s, but wrapped the 2x4’s with non-adhesive tape so as not to damage the newly applied fiberglass —- Very impressive. They cared for the pool as if it were their own, and best of all, I could tell they took pride in their work. Thanks you all for caring! You don’t see that these days anymore. Enjoy the before and after pics! Obviously I’m still working on the pool deck.Posted on Google Suzanne JTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I got a beautiful new looking pool and filter in two days. The filter works so much better and pressure is not even up to 10 three weeks later. Algae problem is gone. They were professional knowledgeable and did what they said they would plus. Love my new pool.Posted on Google Alex BishopTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What's the first thing that comes to mind when needing a big $$ job done? Can I trust these people? Are they going to take my deposit and ride off into the sunset, or maybe head to Mexico with a bunch of deposits and never do any work? Much to my surprise after having another company come out that does the same job and wanting a large deposit, this company said that I didn't need to give them .01 cent before they finished the job. We have a large pool (concrete and old) that had several layers of paint on it. They brought in a professional sandblaster company that did the job the right way. We could see that we had some cracks in the old concrete and needed some other work done before going forward. Again they recommended the best man for the job to fix all of that. It was an added expense, but no reason to fix things half ass. He fixed the cracks the correct way, not the good enough way, put new pvc pipe in, added 2 new returns, redid the skimmer box, and a couple of other things. Was it an added expense, of course. But, we didn't want to just put a bandaid on this pool. Now it was time for Ken and his team of professionals to come in and do their part, the part we we're waiting for. They were here at the time they said they would be. They got the pool ready like it was their own before starting. Then they got to work. They made sure to prep things the way they should, without shortcuts, putting several layers of the resin on the concrete. Their product bonds to the resin, therefore the concrete walls and floor. Then came the exciting part, watching them put the 3 layers of their Eco-finish product on with what looks like flamethrowers. As soon as they finished with the 3rd layer, the immediately were able to start filling the pool with water. They never once made me feel like they were in the category of a used car salesman. Always answered or returned my calls when I had questions. They came over and made sure the other guys were getting things ready for them to be able to do the final job. I would definitely recommend Ken and the people he recommended to do the job right. If you want to come look at my pool before doing yours Ken will happily give you my phone number to do so. We did have another person that does the same job come out before Ken, and they wanted I want to say 50% down, they were from almost 2 hours away, and we just didn't get the same vibe from them as we did Ken. Thank you Ken, Ashley and the rest of your people for exceeding our expectations and bringing brand new life to my wife's favorite part of our little Plantation. To many years of memories for our family and always remember HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE. The Anthony's.Posted on Google Emory HaganTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Pricing is based on pool size, current condition, and prep requirements — we inspect before quoting. For Ravenel homeowners, the relevant comparison is coating cost versus the ongoing expense of managing a failing porous surface — chemical products, acid washing, stain treatments, and eventual replastering. The thermo-polymer coating's per-year cost consistently lands below the true lifecycle cost of continuing to maintain a surface that absorbs everything it contacts.
